The Ministry of Gospel Flight

Gospel Flight is built around a very specific burden to come along side missionaries who use aviation as a tool to carry the everlasting Gospel to their uttermost.  Missionaries around the world are using this tool of aviation to multiply their time and efforts and to expand their field of harvest in their church planting ministries.

Federal law requires that every U.S. registered aircraft be inspected annually by an Authorized Inspector and while airplanes are a very useful and needed tool on many mission fields, the annual inspection can be very burdensome, time consuming and costly for the missionary.  By helping these missionaries with their annual inspection requirements the ministry of Gospel Flight can redeem precious time and resources that can be used to spread the message of the everlasting Gospel.

The timeframe for an annual inspection typically takes up to a week for the inspection itself and then it can take up to a week or two to complete the repairs needed depending on the type of aircraft and what was discovered during the inspection.  Because a missionary can never really put his ministry on hold, the annual inspection can take him up to three times as long to complete.  The repairs can also take much longer due to the limited experience that many missionaries have in the field of aircraft maintenance.  There are many discrepancies that can be found during an annual inspection on an aircraft that a missionary doesn’t know what to do with because they are seeing them for the first time.  To sum it up, an annual inspection that would normally require two weeks to complete, could require up to 6 weeks for a missionary to complete alone.

On the mission field, every day that an airplane is down for maintenance is another day that souls are dying having never heard the wonderful message of the everlasting Gospel.  God has prepared the Wright family and the ministry of Gospel Flight to help meet this need for efficient and experienced aircraft maintenance on the mission field.

Gospel Flight’s purpose is to come along side missionaries who are actively involved in church planting ministries around the world, who have a similar doctrinal statement to that of Gospel Flight, and who are currently using or have the potential to use the tool of aviation to reach their uttermost.  This is accomplished by:

  • Providing professional aircraft maintenance with no labor charges which draws upon my many years of personal experience as a professional Airframe and Powerplant mechanic and an Authorized Inspector.
  • Providing as many aircraft parts and supplies as possible to the missionary free of charge, allowing the missionary to redirect funds toward the actual operation of the airplane.
  • Encouraging the missionary and his family by bringing requested supplies, taking part in their daily routine, and sharing in good Christian fellowship.
  • Preaching in the local church, teaching in local Bible Institutes and ministering to the men, women and children of the local church.
  • Fellowshipping with local believers, taking an interest in their lives and providing a good testimony in our example for them to follow.
  • Taking part in the missionary’s normal evangelistic efforts, special soul winning efforts, youth outreach efforts, church planting efforts and mission aviation efforts to reach the uttermost.
